The Echoes of Change (Part 3 of 3)

There Will Be Days That Suck

THE ECHOES OF CHANGE (Part 3 of 3)

In this final part of the trinity…let’s close on some inspirational notes. Two words. DO IT. Deep down you know what you want to do with your talents and although you may not know each and every step to achieve those goals, every plan begins with a first step. If you have to…write down your thoughts. Take it back to grade school when you learned how to brainstorm. Put the main idea in the bubble and branch out with the main goal at the end. Fill in the blanks with what you know and have the skill set to do. Think on what is missing and determine if you have the skills to complete that task. Here is the second two word inspirational note. GET HELP.

Don’t be like me and try and build your own team at first. I would even advise that you avoid working with family and friends. Invest in yourself…in the right people who are already walking on the path you are already traveling. Trust me…you’ll meet those connections as you grow…but none of it is possible if you don’t take that first step. Believe in yourself…acknowledge your doubts…utilize your strengths…build your weaknesses into weapons of opportunity. That first step doesn’t have to be major. Matter of fact…too many look for the big leap…the big reward while dismissing the smaller steps that make the bigger ones more impactful.

Prepare your foundation by first being honest with yourself and by making a pact to hold transparent integrity above materialistic gains. If you aren’t organized…start practicing now. You don’t want to be trying to catch up once things get going. For the music artists reading this. Take the time to learn the basics of copyright. Do it yourself. Don’t be lazy and hire someone else to do it for you, or at least, don’t hire them without having a firm grasp of IP protection, registration and monetization avenues. The story of too many getting taking to the cleaners has to stop. The internet has a wealth of knowledge on the subject. There’s no reason you should be going into this industry totally blind, oblivious to the pitfalls of ignorance. So where do I fit in all of this.

Experience has taught me a great deal and so my knowledge is something I am passionate about passing to others before my final breath. This contribution comes in the form of a strategy guide I began writing while at Berklee and now that this 8th volume of the Christmas album is out and doing its job, I can refocus on getting it complete. It is called, On Your Own Terms: The SalvWreck Blueprint. The goal is to have it done before the summer of 2026. It covers everything from building your label’s foundation (folder hierarchy, social media and marketing funnel establishment). A SalvWreck Christmas VIII will also be included as a case study so you can see my procedure, successes and failures. No plan is perfect, but with adequate planning, the damage can be minimal. Other than that, I am choosing to end life fulfilling my other dreams.

This of course includes Dreamland. An epic fantasy story of magic, betrayal, good vs evil, forsaking one’s homeland to establish a kingdom built on one’s beliefs and morals. It is the story of the Castaway. Matter of fact, the first part is called the Castaway Emergence. As I stated earlier in this trinity post, the prologue is written and awaiting to get animated. I have some ideas of the main characters; King Atlas and his nemesis Toregalok. I even had Midjourney craft me something based off the action opening battle that is the prologue. I think it’s dope and trust you will too once I get it together.

Speaking of taking that first step. That is exactly what I did. I wrote it, visualize the world the story takes place in, have a general idea of how to get it done, built the preliminary soundtrack and once I get financially back into working again, the copyright will be filed. See. I practice what I preach. I know nothing of getting something animated, but I proceeded to do those things I know I have the skill set to accomplish. DO IT. GET HELP. The final two word inspirational note. DON’T QUIT.

You know the saying. If there's no difficulties then what you are doing is not worth the journey. Not only should you be invested in yourself…but also have an iron clad dedication to your vision. If anyone should believe in the mission…it…has…to…be…you…first. Others will see your commitment and based on my own experiences…three things will happen. People will either go all the way with you…get in the way under the guise of assistance…or be jealous of your movements. They’ll watch from the shadows knowing that you see them viewing your posts, reels and releases and won’t share, comment or even like it. Don’t let that dishearten you. That is their character flaw…not yours. Often people see their failures in your success…no matter how much or little you get accomplished. Take solace in knowing that they are not your target audience in the first place and their hatred of your dreams is what cowards are made of. Leave them in their dark places with their itchy eyes. You have bigger and better things to concern yourself with.

Well this will do it for me. I hope you’ve enjoyed reading this three post blog as much as I have enjoyed writing it. If this is your first time reading my blog from start to finish…thank you and I hope you have read or will read part 1 and 2. For those who been rocking with me…you know the vibe…so say it with me.

Stay tuned…stay alert…and always remember…You. Are. Da. MuvMint. I love you for that Castawayz!

Blessings
